The Kamloops RCMP Detachment responded to approximately 386 calls for service from midnight Friday June 4, to 9 a.m. on Monday June 7, 2021. Below are some highlights from those calls.
Police investigate vehicle fire
An early Monday morning truck fire on Willow Street has police investigating.
Just after midnight on Monday June 7, 2021, Kamloops RCMP received a request to assist Kamloops Fire and Rescue with a vehicle fire on the 200-block of Willow Street. Frontline officers attended and collected evidence.

Vehicle crash leads to impaired driving investigation
A man faces impaired driving charges following a crash on Highway 1 this weekend.
On Sunday June 6, 2021 just after midnight, Kamloops RCMP responded to a two-vehicle collision on Highway 1 near the Hillside Way onramp. According to the report, a vehicle was travelling eastbound in the westbound lanes of the divided highway when it collided with a westbound vehicle carrying two occupants. No one was seriously injured.
A roadside breath test was administered to the driver and sole occupant of the eastbound vehicle, which registered a
fail reading, indicating a blood alcohol level exceeding .08. A second test was allegedly declined.
A 90-day driving prohibition and 30-vehicle impound was issued under the Motor Vehicle Act.
Business broken into downtown
Police are investigating after a business was broken into during the early hours of Sunday morning.
On June 6, around 3:38 a.m., Kamloops RCMP responded to a report of a break and enter on the 1000-block of Victoria Street. Upon attending, police discovered the suspect(s) attempted to remove the door by its hinges before damaging the exterior wall to gain entry. Two high-end bikes were stolen.
