Langley RCMP have concluded their investigation into an alleged assault that reportedly occurred during a Kwantlen First Nation council meeting on October 6, 2022.

We recognize that reports of this alleged incident had an impact on the community, says Superintendent Adrian Marsden, Officer in Charge of the Langley RCMP. I would like to assure everyone that the matter was thoroughly investigated, and our officers found no evidence that an offence occurred.

The incident was initially investigated by Langley RCMP frontline officers, and on November 2 the Langley RCMP General Investigation Section re-opened the file when additional information was received. All investigative avenues have been completed and no further investigation is expected.

The impacted parties and senior Indigenous leadership have been notified.

Langley RCMP would like to thank all parties that came forward to provide information to police and participated in the investigation.
