RCMP North District Major Crime investigating homicide in Houston

The RCMP North District Major Crime Unit (MCU) is investigating a homicide in Houston.

On July 2, 2020 at 4:30 a.m., RCMP received a report of an adult male in medical distress inside a residence located along Pearson Road in Houston BC. Front line officers and emergency medical crews rushed to the scene where they found an adult male victim suffering from significant injuries.

Sadly the victim, a 30-year-old man, was succumbed to his injuries at the scene, states Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey, spokesman for the BC RCMP. Investigators believe the incident was isolated in nature and that the general public is not at any risk.

The BC Coroners Service has been notified and is also investigating the circumstances surrounding the man’s death. Due to the privacy of the deceased, his name will not be released.

The police investigation is ongoing at this time, being led by the RCMP North District Major Crime Unit, supported by Houston RCMP and RCMP Integrated Forensic Identification Services.
