About Langley RCMP

The Langley RCMP is dedicated to protect and serve the citizens of Langley through the prevention and reduction of crime, in partnership with our community.

A Message from the Officer in Charge, Superintendent Adrian Marsden

It is my honour to join the team of dedicated officers and municipal staff here at the Langley Detachment. This community is such an ideal place to live and work. The fabulous family oriented neighbourhoods are expanding and will soon offer numerous exciting amenities found in the bigger centres.

We, at Langley Detachment, are currently working with our community partners to identify our strategic priorities with a focus on higher visibility, ever increasing community engagement & partnerships, and transparency. Langley is emerging with rapidly developing new neighbourhoods and exciting developments such as the coming Sky Train expansion. Our changing, now younger demographic has brought with it some great new changes including increased diversity and cultures.

Our team will look to maintain and involve Langley’s community drive as we face some of the pressures of gradually increasing urbanization including challenges with homelessness, those struggling with mental illness or drug addictions, impending traffic challenges, property offences, and occasional surges in violent crimes. We look forward to developing opportunities to work with the community and community partners, including our schools, businesses, and social support groups to develop strategies that face the changes ahead. We are constantly looking to modernize and advance ourselves as we work together through these challenging Covid times.

Superintendent Adrian Marsden joined Langley Detachment in the summer of 2021. He grew up on the West Coast and obtained a Bachelor’s degree from the University of British Columbia prior to joining the RCMP and completing postings to Burnaby, North Vancouver, the Anti-Corruption Unit, Federal Serious & Organized Crime Unit, and North Cowichan. He most recently completed postings in Edmonton, Alberta, with the RCMP Serious Crimes Branch and RCMP Office of Investigative Standards & Practices. He feels fortunate to have been given the opportunity to return to his home province and looks forward to the years ahead in working to meet the policing commitments of the Township and City of Langley, as well as the Kwantlen First Nation.
