File # 2023-41082

On Tuesday December 5, 2023 at 7:30 pm, Langley RCMP was notified of a serious motor vehicle collision on 264 Street at 48 Avenue in Langley. Frontline officers responded to the scene along with Township of Langley Fire Department and BC Emergency Health Services (BCEHS).

Initial investigation has indicated the driver of a Dodge pickup was stopped in the northbound lane of 264 Street waiting to turn left onto 48 Avenue. A Ford Taurus, also northbound on 264 Street did not react to the stopped pick up truck until the last minute and swerved into the south bound lane, into the path of an oncoming 5 ton truck.

As a result of the collision, the Taurus left the roadway and down an embankment. Unfortunately, the driver and lone occupant of the Taurus succumbed to her injuries at the scene.
The driver of the 5 ton truck was uninjured and remained at scene.

Langley RCMP’s Criminal Collision Investigation Team (CCIT) attended along with the Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (ICARS). CCIT remained on scene with 264 Street closed until approximately 3:50 am.

If you were driving in the area around the time, please review any dash cam footage you have. Anyone who has information regarding the collision or witnessed it is asked to contact the Langley RCMP at 604 532-3200.
