Just after 3:00 pm, the Langley RCMP received numerous 911 calls reporting a plane had gone down at the Langley Airport. BC Emergency Health Services, Township of Langley Fire and Langley RCMP responded and confirmed that a small plane had crashed.
The investigation is in its early stages and the causes have yet to be determined. It is known the plane was occupied by the pilot and a passenger. Both have been transported by air ambulance to hospital.
A pickup truck traveling east along 216th Street, bordering the airport, was struck as the plane was coming down. The driver of the vehicle has been taken to hospital in ground ambulance.
Emergency personnel remain on scene and the Transportation Safety Board has been contacted.
Further updates will be made available as the investigation dictates.
